> A Social Life | Award Winning Short Film | Social Media Depression

Are you living the life that you post?

A Social Life is a short film about a career driven woman named Meredith who’s living the life she’s always dreamed of… online. Meredith strives to live a balanced life: staying fit, working hard and connecting with her friends; she is creating her “image” within her broader social media friend base. But she awakes one day and realizes that her reflection is merely the collection of photos that she has shared with others. Is this her life? Or just a carefully curated brand?

Kerith Lemon is a writer, director and creator with rich experience in multi-platform storytelling and creative narratives. Driven by her passion for stories that emotionally connect, Lemon is drawn to narratives that elevate women, mirror societal complications, and create dialogues amongst a broad audience. Her directorial debut, A Social Life, premiered at the Canberra International Short Film Festival, where it was awarded the prize for Best International Actor and most recently has won Best Ladies First Short at the Lady Filmmakers Festival in Pacific Grove, CA. It will continue to screen at film festivals throughout 2016.

  2. You shouldn't worry about being perfect because nobody is. But social media often makes people feel like they have to be. People get sucked in and seeing everyone's amazing life (usually not as amazing as it appears) becomes very damaging to one's self-esteem.

  3. All these social media people from real tv who fill up their life with wind

  4. These people in comments over exaggerated as if they never used social media and aren’t watching this video on YouTube (social media)

  5. Pretty sure i saw a similar short but with a guy as protagonist – both remind me of a Black Mirror episode – indeed both protagonists are lonely but they post about a great life……..

This is a disaster…..the complete disaster of the last decade – seems like we're waking up from this nightmare…or we are not ?
I still see almost everybody on the bus with the face in the phone – also, since they added the vocals feature you can now ear these girls sendind vocals with very loud voice as if anywone of us would care—-how cringe is that ?
Such idiotic society — is it always been this dumb or we're reaching the highest point ever ?

  6. Hi, I just want to ask permission If I can use some of your videos here into my school project? Thank you.
